Nitsuh Tafesse owns Tuscany Driving School and has called Calgary home since arriving from Ethiopia in 1999. His story is rooted in northwest Calgary, where family life, business and a habit of continuous learning have grown together over more than two decades.

He has also worked in real estate since 2015. The more interesting thread is not the list of ventures, though. It is a person who built a life in Calgary, raised a family in Royal Oak and keeps deliberately adding new skills.

Nitsuh sets himself a goal of learning two new skills each year. So far that list has included marathons, swimming, skating, yoga and motorcycling. There is something fitting about a man who teaches driving for a living being this good at being a beginner.
