Focused

it’s only fitting that the woman who will help tell the stories of this community begins by sharing her own.

But today, Laura Tobin isn’t behind the camera. She’s in front of it.

and is someone who notices the quiet moments. The unspoken rhythm between families.

The way your child leans into you without thinking.

With her photography, she creates a space where you can relax, be yourself, and maybe even forget the camera’s there.
The kind that hums quietly beneath everyday life.
Children racing down pathways at dusk.
A neighbour’s wave from across the street.
The comforting sound of a garage door closing at the end of the day.
“It truly feels like a close-knit small town,” she shares. “It’s an ideal place to raise kids, with plenty of fun activities, walking paths, and a warm, welcoming community. Everything from schools to local programs is within walking distance.”
Laura knows the quiet corners: the coulee with its untouched beauty, the hidden park where cherry blossoms bloom for just one fleeting week each spring.

“It’s perfect for all ages, with so much to do, especially for families,” she says. “Whether it’s the splash park, skating, skate park, movie in the park, food trucks from time to time, or just enjoying the community vibe, there’s something for everyone.”
a calendar that rarely sits still, and a whole lot of beautiful noise.

When creativity hits a wall (as it sometimes does), she resets with a walk through nature, explores a new neighbourhood, or finds a fresh spark over a well-earned latte from a local café.

“Married to the love of my life and raising five kids, one already out on their own, it’s a time of deepening connections, personal growth, and embracing new adventures. Every day feels like a new chapter, and I’m capturing it all as we navigate life’s beautiful chaos together.”
“I’d be traveling the world!

Exploring new places and cultures has always been a dream of mine. Maybe one day I’ll find a way to merge both loves and photograph my way around the globe.”

“Good timber does not grow with ease; the stronger the wind, the stronger the trees.”

It’s a reminder that growth comes with challenges, and that strength is often quiet and rooted.
So if you spot Laura at the Tuscany Club, coulee-strolling with a latte, squeezing in a workout, messy bun and all, or mid-chat on the sidewalk, go ahead and say hi. She’s every bit as kind as the photos suggest.

“I truly believe that when we show up BEFORE we feel ready, that’s when real transformation happens.”
