  • k008 | I first met Tracey back in 2017, or maybe it was 2018.
  • k009 | The year doesn’t really matter.
  • k010 | What’s stuck with me ever since is the impression she left:
  • k011 | She’s straightforward,
  • k012 | no-nonsense,
  • k013 | and the kind of person who holds people accountable while always doing her part.
  • k014 | Years later,
  • k015 | it’s clear those same qualities,
  • k016 | now shared with her daughter Jadyn,
  • k017 | have shaped not just their family story
  • k018 | but their place in Tuscany too.
  • k019 | When Tracey and her family first arrived in Tuscany twenty years ago,
  • k020 | the community was still finding its
  • k021 | identity.
  • k022 | The move from
  • k023 | Saskatchewan
  • k024 | to Calgary
  • k025 | had been prompted by her husband Glenn’s career with CP Rail, but
  • k026 | it didn’t take long before Tuscany began to feel like
  • k027 | more than just a stop
  • k028 | along the way.
  • k029 | The neighbourhood was young, expanding rapidly,
  • k030 | and yet there was an unmistakable
  • k031 | small-town warmth
  • k032 | to it.
  • k033 | Friendships formed quickly, many of which have endured for nearly two decades,
  • k034 | evolving into the kind of
  • k035 | chosen family
  • k036 | that defines a place as home.
  • k037 | Back then,
  • k038 | life in Tuscany came with its challenges.
  • k039 | Schools were scarce, and Tracey’s daughters, Jadyn and Reise, would have a
  • k040 | 7:30
  • k041 | a.m.
  • k042 | bus ride down Crowchild Trail.
  • k043 | When St. Basil opened, they were among the very first students to walk its halls.
  • k044 | Today, the Agnews
  • k045 | marvel
  • k046 | at how much has changed.
  • k047 | With several schools within walking distance
  • k048 | and playgrounds bustling with young children,
  • k049 | the community now offers a vibrant neighbourhood where families can grow up alongside their neighbours.
  • k050 | The Tuscany Club, with its recent upgrades and events, has become
  • k051 | another cornerstone of family life.
  • k052 | It is, in Tracey’s view, the kind of place that makes a
  • k053 | big
  • k054 | neighbourhood feel
  • k055 | smaller.
  • k056 | Tuscany has shaped the Agnews’ story
  • k057 | in countless ways.
  • k058 | For Tracey and Jadyn, involvement in the community has
  • k059 | never been optional.
  • k060 | It is part of
  • k061 | who they are
  • k062 | as a family,
  • k063 | as Tuscany residents,
  • k064 | and as the team behind Agnew Insurance with the Co-operators.
  • k065 | They are also
  • k066 | proud
  • k067 | Platinum Sponsors of the Tuscany Residents Association, helping support many of the events and initiatives that bring neighbours together,
  • k068 | from the Stampede Breakfast
  • k069 | to seasonal celebrations like Halloween and Easter,
  • k070 | as well as clean-up days
  • k071 | and other community gatherings.
  • k072 | It is also where Tracey joined a
  • k073 | book club
  • k074 | after meeting a
  • k075 | neighbour,
  • k076 | a group that’s still going strong
  • k077 | thousands of pages
  • k078 | later.
  • k079 | Books
  • k080 | have become another way the family
  • k081 | connects,
  • k082 | with
  • k083 | Tracey
  • k084 | often
  • k085 | passing
  • k086 | her
  • k087 | favourite
  • k088 | reads
  • k089 | along
  • k090 | to
  • k091 | Jadyn
  • k092 | and
  • k093 | Reise.
  • k094 | They
  • k095 | believe
  • k096 | a neighbourhood thrives when people
  • k097 | show up,
  • k098 | lend
  • k099 | a hand,
  • k100 | and share
  • k101 | their time.
  • k102 | Over the years, that has meant everything from coaching, to volunteering, to organizing the
  • k103 | Tuscany Harvest Festival.
  • k104 | Tracey and Jadyn look back on those years with
  • k105 | pride.
  • k106 | “As we know, all good things come to an end,
  • k107 | although we miss it dearly.
  • k108 | The event was a
  • k109 | proud moment
  • k110 | for our family and business,”
  • k111 | Tracey recalls.
  • k112 | “Through the efforts of our family and many community supporters and other
  • k113 | local
  • k114 | businesses,
  • k115 | Tuscany Harvest Festival became a
  • k116 | must-do
  • k117 | for the fall season in Tuscany and a highly anticipated event by the community.
  • k118 | We recruited our daughters and their friends to man the
  • k119 | popcorn machine,
  • k120 | photo booth
  • k121 | and candy bar.
  • k122 | We are proud to have been a part of the event
  • k123 | and its success for the Tuscany community and neighbours.
  • k124 | Who knows,
  • k125 | maybe we will see a
  • k126 | return
  • k127 | in the future!”
  • k128 | That sense of showing up doesn’t stop at the community.
  • k129 | It carries right into their
  • k130 | home life.
  • k131 | Family dinners often flow into
  • k132 | three-hour conversations,
  • k133 | and game nights have become their own tradition.
  • k134 | “We’re big
  • k135 | Flames fans,”
  • k136 | Jadyn says.
  • k137 | “During hockey season you’ll usually find us at the
  • k138 | Saddledome
  • k139 | or all together watching at home.
  • k140 | But every once in a while,
  • k141 | Mom tries to
  • k142 | sneak in
  • k143 | a Chiefs game.
  • k144 | Let’s just say…
  • k145 | not everyone in the family
  • k146 | is a
  • k147 | Patrick Mahomes
  • k148 | fan!”
  • k149 | Twenty years later,
  • k150 | Tuscany has given them friendships that started in parks and schoolyards and grew into
  • k151 | Christmases,
  • k152 | graduations,
  • k153 | and weddings
  • k154 | shared side by side.
  • k155 | And with events like the Stampede Breakfast, Movie in the Park, and the Holiday Light Up,
  • k156 | there are still plenty of reasons to
  • k157 | bump
  • k158 | into a neighbour.
  • k159 | For the Agnews, life in Tuscany feels a bit like their favourite TV show,
  • k160 | Ted Lasso
  • k161 | .
  • k162 | It’s about
  • k163 | a
  • k164 | good
  • k165 | laugh,
  • k166 | a
  • k167 | good
  • k168 | story,
  • k169 | and a
  • k170 | good
  • k171 | community around you.
  • k172 | Starring
  • k173 | Tracey Agnew
  • k174 | Jadyn Agnew
  • k175 | We’ll end on this.
  • k176 | If you know, you know.
